On Saturday night March 11th at 8:22pm the West Haverstraw Fire Dept. was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries and reported entrapment at the intersection of West Railroad Ave and Andrews Drive in the Garnerville section of the village. While en route, PD and EMS were already on scene confirming serious injuries and entrapment of one occupant. Upon the arrival of 23 Rescue, the crew of 6 immediately went to work performing a complete sidewall removal of the driver side to free the trapped occupant. 23 Squad arrived shortly after and verified that no one else was trapped in the 2nd vehicle that was involved in the accident. They secured the battery and fluids in the road. Members then assisted EMS with removing the patient to an awaiting ambulance who was then transported to the hospital.
