When should I call the Fire Department?Anytime you feel that something is not right in or around your home. Example: If you have any type of fire in your home (small or large). If you smell smoke or an unknown odor. If you see downed electrical wires. If you are trapped in a building due to a collapse or structural failure. You have water backup in your basement. Your carbon monoxide or smoke detector is going off for any reason.

How do I become a firefighter?Stop by our firehouse any Monday evening at 7PM or apply on our website!

Do I have to go into burning buildings if I join the fire company? No, there are many responsibilities a member of our company can fulfill. We have administrative positions such as President, Vice-President, Secretary etc. On the fireground, there are many jobs that do not require entering a burning building, such as driving the fire trucks, directing traffic, preparing the equipment after each alarm, etc.

I already have a lot of commitments, my schedule is somewhat limited, do I have to commit to being at the firehouse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? No, not at all, training is provided on nights, weekends, and during the daytime to accommodate those with busy schedules. While we respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we respond as often as we are available. If you are available when an emergency call comes in, you respond of you are available, there is no penalty for not responding, only the satisfaction of providing assistance to those who call for help.
